On July 9, the Ypsilanti Vigilantes hosted Border City Brawlers’ Canadian Clubbers. The Vigilantes had been preparing hard for this bout. According to Flat Track Stats, they were only given a 39% chance of winning this game. The Vigilantes proved them wrong!
Our next home bout, July 9 at Buhr Park, is your next-to-last chance to see Arbor Bruising Co. and Ypsilanti Vigilantes here in Ann Arbor. It's an international affair, featuring Border City Brawlers' All-Stars and Canadian Clubbers. You won't want to miss a minute of the action, plus we've got refreshing concessions and kid-friendly activities — and in case you missed it, we're now serving beer. See you July 9!
The Ypsilanti Vigilantes traveled to Lapeer, MI on June 18 to take on the Demolitia Derby Queens (DDQ). The Vigilantes and the DDQ had faced each other in the fall of 2015, with the DDQ taking the win by 70 points. The Vigilantes vowed to work hard, apply their offensive and defensive strategies and to take the win the next time they met. While the Vigilantes’ summertime track is exposed to the summer heat conditions, they had yet to skate in the blazing temperatures they faced inside the Lapeer Skating Center. From what we were told, it was the hottest temps the DDQ had ever seen inside their venue. It was a real scorcher!
A2D2 took the South by storm last weekend during their trip to Asheville, North Carolina. Both the Arbor Bruising Company and the Brawlstars made the 9+ hour drive down for a full day of derby on Saturday, June 4.
Our next home bout, June 11 at Buhr Park, pits the Brawlstars and Arbor Bruising Co. against North Star Roller Girls' Supernovas and Northern Lights. It's a matchup that's sure to be out of this world!
If you've seen us at Buhr Park, you know a day of derby is one of the best bangs for your entertainment buck, from family-friendly fun to crave-able concessions, and now we're thrilled to announce another perk: You (if you're of legal age) can enjoy a cold beer while you watch us play! We'll be slinging Pabst Blue Ribbon, Founders' Pale Ale, and Angry Orchard Cider, starting June 11 and continuing through the rest of our 2016 home season.
